Rymon Zacharei,

born in 1985 in Baghdad, Iraq, raised in Egypt, and living in Germany since the age of 13, is a dancer and choreographer known under the artistic name “Rayboom.” His practice is rooted in Hip-Hop and urban dance styles such as Locking, Popping, and House, combined with martial arts influences and contemporary dance.

Since 2005, he has been working as a performer, choreographer, and educator. His artistic language connects urban foundations with contemporary movement research and collaborative creation. He understands dance as an embodied and social practice that fosters identity, resilience, and collective expression.

In 2010, he began teaching at Tanzhaus NRW, where he leads youth dance projects and develops collaborative formats with young performers. As a member of “E-Motion” / “Renegade” and crew member of “Flying Steps,” he has been involved in large-scale productions such as “Flying Bach,” working within transdisciplinary stage contexts that connect urban dance with theatrical and musical structures.

In 2017, he received the Promotion Prize of the City of Düsseldorf as an emerging artist in the performing arts. With his collective “Mood Dance Company,” he develops interdisciplinary choreographic works and was invited to the Tanztreffen der Jugend at the Berliner Festspiele (2021/22).

In 2023, he premiered his first solo work, “DER PASS,” in Düsseldorf, continuing his exploration of migration, identity, and embodied narratives.

Rymon Zacharei represents a new generation of German Hip-Hop artists whose work bridges urban culture and contemporary performance practice.
